Showing a fine fully detailed side elevation view, with major dimensions, weights, and principle specifications, dates and numbers. French terminology. Particularly nice pieces. Showing the 4-6-0 engine and eight wheeled tender posed on a roundhouse turntable with crew in attendance. It is laid down on card 8" x 20". Although not marked as such this came sometime from the archives of E.L. Ahrons, the locomotive engineer.

A detailed history and description of railways in the area. See Ottley 8891. Very fine condition.

230-1860. Commencement of the works of the Petropolis Railway by the Emperor of Brazil." Wood Engraved Drawing. Picture size 5.75" x 9", on an extracted page of The Illustrated London News. 6th November 1852, 15.75" x 10.5". Showing the gathering of important people and spectators for the ceremony of cutting the soil to begin the construction. An avenue of palm trees and flags on poles has been laid along the first course of the line, and this is flanked by a platoon of navvies holding shouldered spades. Included is the text article. This is without folds and is in generally fine condition. We will send it rolled.

Including 34 tables and a bibliography with 52 sources. A detailed account of this famous engineers working life, in particular with the London Brighton and South Coast Railway. Ottley 12262.

(12) + 289 pages with several reproductions, many diagrams and some maps + (16) pages with 26 photos. A detailed description and history of the lines, with tables of opening and closing dates. Although this is not shown as such on the title page it is in fact the second volume of a trilogy, albeit a complete book in its own right. Most interesting. Ottley 8583. As new condition.

230-1866. Danske Statsbaner. Passenger Carriage Type 8. Litra CRL Nr. 1033-1040, built 1939, Scandia. Official Diagram, from Rolling Stock Register, D.S.B. Kobenhavn. Sheet number, Tektur til side 142. 6.75" x 10.25", diagram to one-hundredths scale, with external side elevation and interior plan views, with major dimensions and brief specifications. This is a side corridor, compartmental carriage, with through gangway connections, carried on two four-wheel bogies. Danish text. This is hard to come by.

First paperback edition. 11" x 10", pictorial light card cover. 187 pages with very many photos. This is illustrated with extraordinary photographic material from the nineteen-forties and tells the story of an important piece of modern American history. Those who delight in pictures of giant steam locomotives hard at work will find this to their liking. Fine condition.

230-1870. The Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad Company. Certificate for 100 Shares of Capital Stock at 50 dollars each. Issued 1950. Signed in ink by all parties and printed with the Company seal. 7.5" x 11.25", engraved in an ornate style in brown & black on cream quality paper by the "American Bank Note Company." With a decorative border and incorporating an excellent three part vignette showing a 4-4-0 locomotive and bogie tender; three miners working underground; and the surface buildings of a mine. The certificate has been "Cancelled in 1960" by perforation and three further groups of punched holes. Very nice, an impressive piece. In very fine condition.
