DEUTSCHE REICHSBAHN. Official Items

232-3029. Deutscher-Reichsbahn-Kalender 1941. The full set of perforated tear-off pages taken from this: Consisting of the colour paper cover, from an original painting, 9.75" x 6.25". Showing a steam hauled mineral train in a snow covered mountainous region with a banking locomotive at the rear. + 96 sheets with photographic illustrations and quite lengthy accompaniment text in German. Note that these have had the calendar section showing dates and days removed. 7" x 6.25". Showing mostly contemporary scenes on various parts of the German railway system and with members of the staff at work. All have been laid down in a German made album probably of 1930s vintage 15.25" x 9.25", cloth covered boards, (48) pages. The pictures are most interesting and show nothing of the disaster which will ensue within a couple of years, indeed there is little sign of there being a war, other than the inauguration of the D.R. train service to Paris. Excellent history. The album shows signs of age but the illustrations are in generally fine condition.

A quality technical magazine concerned with all aspects of design and construction of electric railways and electric motive power, mostly German, Austrian and Swiss, but some is on the railways and practice of other countries. This volume does not have issues for July and November bound in, probably there was wartime publishing difficulties, in any event these years are seldom to be found on offer. With the bookplate of F.J. Haut. Very fine condition.

Issued in 1952, fully signed by all parties. 8" x 12", 2 sides. Green & black on white quality paper. Engraved by the "American Bank Note Company." Incorporating vignette showing two mythological figures standing each side of the laurel wreathed name Erie. The Certificate is Cancelled by perforation punch and holes punched in the signatures. Very nice and very fine condition.
