A history and description of lines in the area, including a couple that were projected. Ottley 8510. Very fine condition.

233-3978. Manaos Improvements Limited. A Debenture for Twenty Pounds, bearing Interest at six per cent per annum, issued 24th November 1909. Impressed by the company Sealed and signed by all parties concerned, and including an embossed British Revenue Stamp for two shillings. 17.75" x 12", 2 sides. Engraved in blue on white quality paper in a bank note style by "Waterlow & Sons Limited, London", with Conditions on the reverse. Together with the remainder sheet of Dividend Coupons, with the period December 1913 to June 1926 extant. This company had substantial holdings in Brazilian Railways and Docks. Not cancelled. Very fine condition.

Notice of Application to Parliament for a Bill, for the Manchester Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway Company to construct railways in the Counties of York, Derby and Nottingham, in Parliamentary Session 1889. 13" x 7.75", 5 pages, black on blue. Together with two Ordnance Survey Maps, of 31" x 21" and 17" x 24" each, linen backed. With the proposals drawn in, showing Railways Nos. 1 to 13. Rolled, all in fine condition.

233-3984. Mersey Railway. Cleading & Pipe Arrangement, for the 2-6-2 tank locomotives being rebuilt for the company in 1892. Engineer’s Drawing, No. 20. 27.5" x 79". Company Print, to a scale of 1 & 1/2" to one foot. Showing the whole engine in section, side and end elevation views, with all pipe work: Steam, water, oil, air, vacuum, and sand, with fittings and fixtures. Also boiler, cylinder and steam pipe lagging. With dimensions and constructional notes. Together with the plan view. Drawing 21. 27.5" x 79". Otherwise as before. A couple of small patch repairs to the verso but these have survived well to be in generally fine condition. Rolled.

Information Brochure for visitors. 11" x 19", with two colour map showing the M & GNJ Railway and lines of other companies with the various places of interest to holiday makers. The verso has the tables, fares and Day Trips, and other information for passengers. Folding to 5.5" x 3.75". An extremely scarce piece. This has splits starting at most folds but is complete.

233-4006. Midland Railway Locomotive No. 1743. Designed by Samuel W. Johnson, built at Derby Works in 1885. Engraved Drawing first published in The Railway Engineer during the nineteenth century, this being a re-printing made from the original blacks for Hugh Evelyn Limited, London, in 1964. 10" x 17" on substantial paper with blank verso. Showing a detailed perspective drawing of the 4-4-0 engine and six wheel tender standing in full right side; toning and shading is most effectively used with superb fine artistry. Below the illustration is a title and brief specifications of the locomotive. Most suited to be mounted and framed. Fine condition.
