235-0369. Maryport and Carlisle Railway Company Cheque. Written in 1912 for payment of "Twenty Three Pounds, nine shillings and nine pence to Messrs. Cammell Laird & Co. Ltd." 6" x 8.25". With embossed 1d Revenue Stamp and a further 1d stamp affixed. The cheque has been paid. Fine condition.
235-0370. Meccano Magazine. March 1931. Volume 16. No. 3. Liverpool: Issued monthly. An individule copy. 11" x 8.25", pictorial paper cover. Pages 185 to 272. With numerous illustrations. This contains an article on the new Arch Bridge linking Newcastle and Gateshead and being constructed by Dorman, Long and Co., Ltd. It is here described as being one-third the scale of Sydney Harbour Bridge which is being built by the same company. Together with a mixture of other articles including the usual well illustrated suggestions for Meccano Models and Hornby Trains. The cover shows signs of use but the content is in generally fine condition.

The official Committee Cheque drawn on The Union of London and Smiths Bank Limited, Mansion House, London. Written in January 1923 to pay Charles Booth the sum of Eighteen Pounds, Fifteen Shillings. The Cheque includes a printed One Penny Revenue Stamp and also has a 1d. stamp and a 2d. M.R. Receipt Stamp affixed. It has been cashed at the Bank of Liverpool & Martins Ltd., Heywood's Branch. Is the Payee related to the recent Prime Minister's wife? Scarce piece. Generally fine condition.

With full public timetables and information for passengers, including some lengthy By-Law's and Regulations. Covering services Bourne, King's Lynn, and Yarmouth; Melton Constable and Norwich, Cromer and Melton Constable; Cromer, and North Walsham; Lowestoft, and Cromer; Yarmouth, and Lowestoft. With some through connections of other railways. (I was born in Hellesdon which is just on the outskirts of the City of Norwich so am familiar with all these places but not from 1915 of course! Sadly our house was demolished long ago in favour of road widening scheme, which I understand was a failure anyway. Mary.) Seldom to be found on offer. Slightly rubbed on outer covers and light foxing to title page.
