Picture size 5.75" x 9", on two extracted pages of The Illustrated London News. 4th August 1855, each of 15.75" x 10.5". Showing a detailed perspective view of the inaugural steam locomotive hauled passenger train, standing beside the decorated station building, with gathered crowd of spectators. In the foreground are barges on a canal and a windmill off to the right. Together with "The Hoog-Strass (High Street), Rotterdam." 5.75" x 9.25". Showing a steam hauled train crossing the drained marsh land on a low embankment; with several cows in the foreground, some being milked by women, a couple of punts and windmills. A lengthy text article is included. Excellent history. These are without folds and in very fine condition.

Showing a detailed perspective overall view of the shanty buildings of the construction workers site; many people are around and a train hauled by a 4-4-0 locomotive is standing on a passenger mail train. Together with "The United States Mail Steam-Ship Company's Premises, at Aspinwall." 5" x 9". Showing a steam-sailing ship standing against a wooden quay, with a double track railway line in the foreground and two eight-wheeled U.S. Mail Vans being worked on by numerous people. Strangely, the gauge of the railway looks to be about eight feet six inches, as it is depicted. The text article, which might not be complete, is included. Nice history with particularly good pictures. Without folds and in very fine condition.

October 1887, Athens. Certificate for Ten Shares, issued in 1887, Sealed and signed by all parties concerned. 14.5" x 9.25", 2 sides. Engraved in an ornate style in black and light brown on white water marked paper. Incorporating a vignette drawing of the 2-6-0 side tank locomotive No. 251. Full Greek text with a translation in English and French on the reverse. Cancelled with 12 small holes cut out in the usual manner. Scarce, and seldom seen.
