243-0270. Imperial Government of Russia. Nicolas Railway (Line from St Petersburg to Moscow). Issue of Bonds of one hundred and twenty-five Roubles (or five hundred Francs or twenty Pounds Sterling), paying an Interest of 4% per Annum. Authorised by H.M. the Emperor, dated from Tsarskoe-Selo 18 July 1867. A Certificate for Five Bonds, issued in 1868, signed by all concerned and including an impressed Revenue Stamp for two shillings and six pence. 15.25" x 12.25", 2 sides. Engraved in an elaborate style in black and light grey on white water marked paper. Full text in Russian, with a translation in English and French on the verso. Together with the remainder of a sheet of half-yearly Interest Coupons that have not been used, from April 1918 to October 1922. This seems not to have been cancelled but there was of course a revolution that certainly ended the agreement. A scarce piece and first class history.
