Giving the locomotive running numbers, class, shed named, date, etcetera. These have been folded and sent by G.P.O. Postage at the time of issue, to the railway historian and author, H.C. Casserley. They have his address and postage stamp on the verso. Good information.

It was a favourite excursion particularly for Londoners who treated it as their holiday, some even wore all their weeks clothing when travelling down to Kent in order to minimize on luggage.
