We welcome you to our July 2009 YesRail Catalogue. Each catalogue has a serial number and this and the item number should be given when ordering or making an inquiry. Telephoned orders may be made at any time, one of us is available to give personal attention on most days from 9-00 a.m. to 9-00 p.m. At all other times our answerphone will take your message. Alternatively you can contact us by E-mail, Fax or use the letter Post. To ensure that our Email reply is delivered to your inbox and not treated as spam, please add sales@yesrail.com to your address book or list of approved senders.

We produce seven different catalogues per year together with a January Sale issue, they will come out at seven week intervals. We will as usual give a delightful mix of material in each catalogue and back this up with the excellent customer service you would want and expect. Goods will be carefully packaged and dispatched within seven working days of receiving your order.

Be sure to check our Terms of Business before making an order. Postage of up to GBP. 2-00 is inclusive in any order from our catalogues that comes to a total of GBP. 25-00 or more for goods after any discount that may be due, otherwise or beyond this postage is at cost.

246-1747. The Alexandra (Newport and South Wales) Docks & Railway Company. Statement of Dividend on Consolidated Stocks for the period 1st January to 30th June, 1905. John Smith, Secretary, St. Mary Axe, London. Complete with the Payment Warrant still attached. 10" x 8". As sent to the Proprietor, James Murphy. The company cheque has seemingly not been banked but is only for the amount of eleven pence. Generally fine condition.

Giving a description of the various classes and in particular detailed accounts of train working in various parts of the country. Ottley 2911. Generally fine condition.

246-1750. American Railway. An early locomotive-engine, The "Experiment", built 1832. A detailed perspective drawing with realistic shading, on a cutting extracted from an unknown technical periodical maybe circa 1910. 3.5" x 4.25". Showing the 4-2-0 engine in a left side, rear view. This is laid down on card 10" x 8". Although not marked as such these came sometime from the archives of E.L. Ahrons, the locomotive engineer. No further information is given about the locomotives illustrated in these but it is believed that all were built in Britain and intended for work on the North American Continent. There is some slight foxing on the card in places but all is in generally fine condition.

From the beginning the American railroads became a major force in the development of the country and also an object of awe and inspiration. A detailed account. As new condition.

246-1758. BAKER, Edward. The Railway Handbook. Including an Index and a Supplement forming a chronicle of a large collection of railway publications and relics of dates from 1807 to 1894 including many of the earliest records of railways and of Steam Locomotion at home and abroad together with some archives of Steam Navigation. To which are added prices at which Mr. Baker can supply the same. Edward Baker, 14 & 16 John Bright Street, Birmingham. Being the catalogue of scarce and out of print material on offer from the dealer, 1893, and the Supplement, 1895. Both compiled by S. Cotterell. Original printings, bound together as issued. 6.75" x 4.25", red leather cloth on card covers with a gilt title and steam locomotive engine motif. Including the titled paper covers bound in + (1) page Introductory + 128 pages which include a few illustrations + (2) + 92 pages Supplement. This famous work will be known to many but is now very scarce and seldom to be found on offer. Ottley 48. Complete as called for. Slight sunning to outside covers but generally very fine condition.

246-1759. Baker Street and Waterloo Railway Act, 1899. To make railways; for further powers; and other purposes. 1st August 1899. H.M. Government, London. 10.25" x 7". 28 pages. Disbound. Fine condition.

246-1760. The Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Company. Certificate of Common Stock. Written for Five Shares of One Hundred Dollars each. Issued in 1958, fully signed by all required parties. 7.5" x 11.25", green and black on white quality paper, engraved in an ornate style by the "International Bank Note Co. New York." Incorporating an attractive vignette showing a very early passenger train hauled by a four wheeled vertical boiler locomotive engine with an open truck loaded with wooden barrels next to it, which I presume were holding water for the boiler; followed by a closed double decked carriage and an open carriage which both derive from horse drawn vehicles before being adapted for the railway. The certificate has been "Cancelled in August 1958" by rubber stamping and three holes punched in each signature. An impressive piece that is suited for mounting in a glazed frame for display. Very fine condition.

246-1761. The Baltimore Streetcar Museum, Inc. Baltimore, Maryland. Ride Streetcars in Baltimore. Brochure. Circa 1980s. 8.5" x 11", 2 sides. with 5 photos & 2 diagram plans. Giving brief details and fares. Folds to 8.5" x 3.75". Near mint condition.

246-1762. Barcelona Traction, Light and Power Company Limited. Share Warrant to Bearer for One Preference Share of 100 dollars in gold. Issued in 1926, impressed with the Company Seal and signed by all concerned. 15" x 10.75", 2 sides. Engraved in an elaborate style of blue grey and black on white quality paper by "Waterlow & Sons Limited, London." Incorporating a two part vignette that shows scenes in a city street and a public park. Full text in English and French, the company was Incorporated under the laws of the Dominion of Canada. The Warrant has been cancelled by a large rubber stamping.

246-1788. Cheap Day Tickets to Lancashire County Cricket Matches 1958 Season, at Old Trafford. Handbill. (E 276/R). 10" x 6.25", green on cream. Lists the dates of the matches and the clubs played. The New Zealanders were the visitors. Snagged at top edge, otherwise fine condition. (This handbill will be of interest to those collectors of sporting memorabilia - ghastly word - as well as us railway buffs. We also like cricket although my particular sporting passion is formula one, which I will no doubt mention further on in this issue as next weekend is the British Grand Prix and I shall still be compiling this catalogue for printing.
